Well, I should have guessed this would happen...

November 24th 2009 I've mentioned this before, but it seems that at every stage of this process somehow something goes wrong, but I really thought I had got away with it this time. I was wrong. Having passed my Naplex and CPJE and sent my check to the board, the only possible thing left to happen was to receive my R.Ph. registration number and then start working as a US pharmacist. What actually happened was that on November 16th 2009 I received a letter from the California Board of Pharmacy saying that their had been an "operator error" with my fingerprint/Livescan done on August 13th 2009, and that my date of birth had been entered incorrectly. The board couldn't issue me a license until this had been corrected and that they were working to correct this, but suggested things might move faster if I repaid the fee ($61) and had the test re-done. I did the test again. I am not amused, and I am not a US pharmacist, yet. Can you believe it! Farmacyst. (Apparently one colleague got exactly the same letter that I did, so I am not alone in this, and whilst I got my Livescan test done at a well known parcel delivery company he had his scan done at the local Police station, so I'm not sure who's "operator error" we are talking about here, but I think this may well be the start of a whole new blog!!) ***********FRIDAY DECEMBER 4TH 2009 - I AM OFFICIALLY AN R.Ph.*************

Hi Steven,
Congratulations on your success in becoming a registered US pharmacist. Are you able to give me advice on any companies or institutions willing to sponsor foreign pharmacist graduates? I am UK trained and have managed to obtain a Florida intern license but not yet successful in getting an internship position.

Any information will be appreciated.
Thank you.
